Evans Hall, located on the Kentucky School for the Blind campus, may be one of the most complex roofing systems in Louisville. The architect’s design combines steep-slope asphalt shingle, low-slope, and mansard shingle roofing all in one system. When the time came to replace the original roof, KSB chose Geoghegan Commercial Roofing for the job. Since KSB no longer wanted the large round skylight one of the main challenges was removing the skylight and building a solid replacement surface for the new roof. Geoghegan completed the low-slope section with a Soprema SBS modified roof system for a long lasting surface. Geoghegan’s sister company, Louisville Roofing, completed the shingled steep-slope and mansard sections.
