In 1947 Clarence Geoghegan founded Geoghegan Roofing. As a former Colonel in the U.S. Army he based his business on customer relationships and excellent service. After his death in the late 1970’s the company was acquired from his estate.

Dan Bowling, Joseph Bowling Jr. and Jack Gotting joined the company and later purchased it. Geoghegan Roofing moved from their downtown location to Garland Avenue in 1983. In the 1990’s the partners created Louisville Roofing as a sister company. The focus of Louisville Roofing is residential and other steep slope asphalt shingle applications.

In August of 2021, Geoghegan Commercial Roofing and Louisville Roofing was acquired by Jacob Knigge. Jacob is a long time commercial roofing expert and served as the president and board member for the Kentucky Commercial Roofing Association.
